Tyrrell's Stevens Shiraz 2016 Non-Vintage Julie SheppardA loosely knit shiraz, more modern and fruit focused, in context of the single plot wines of the Tyrrell's range. Unlike the ubiquitous red loam soils, this hails from a steep site made up of purple ochred clay. The fruit is of a darker tone: black cherry, plum, baking spice and a whiff of violet, nicely orchestrated along a scale of gentle oak, ripe tannins and dutiful acidity, towing the melody long.
